Welcome!

Welcome to new teen book blog from the Children and Teen’s Department at Politics and Prose!  One of our favorite things about working here at the bookstore is meeting teens who love to read as much as we do.  This blog is a way for us to continue our fascinating conversations about books outside of the store and hear from all of you about what you’re reading these days.

On this page, we will be posting reviews from our staff and information about teen events and new releases.  Best of all, we will post reviews from you!  Email me, Dana, at dchidiac at politics-prose.com reviews of your favorite books and I will post them on the blog.  If there is a book you couldn’t wait to pass on to your best friend or one you’ve read cover to cover a million times, share it with us!  Then, come back to the blog and comment on our reviews or your friends’.

To get our conversation started, here is a review of Will Grayson, Will Grayson, one of our favorite new books for teens this year.  Come meet the authors, John Green and David Levithan, tomorrow night at Politics and Prose!  The event will take place downstairs in the Children and Teens’ Department beginning at 7pm.

Will Grayson’s personal motto is that it’s best to fade into the background.  After his gay, flamboyant best friend Tiny gets his heart broken one too many times, Tiny decides it’s time to focus his energy on finding some romance for Will instead.  This leads to the entrance of a second Will Grayson into the two friends’ lives.  While very different in personality, the two teens share the same name, Will Grayson, Will Grayson (Penguin, $17.99), and find that their lives intersect in a strangely serendipitous way.  John Green and David Levithan’s alternating voices capture each Will Grayson as he struggles to find his place in the world.  Ages 14-18.  Jory Hearst
